The Gypsy Pilgrimage to Les Saintes Maries de la Mer is the largest Gypsy festival in the world. The annual festival is a profound living tradition rich with music, dance and mirth. Every year, thousands of Gypsy Romani people arrive from across Europe, traveling on horseback, in wooden carriages, and caravans to honor St. Sarah, the Black Madonna, alleged daughter of Mary Magdalene and Jesus Christ, a living holy grail.

This vibrant festival is both a pilgrimage and a re-enactment of the arrival of Sarah and Mary Magdalene on the shores in the South of France. The town’s name, Les Saintes Maries de la Mer, translates to “The Saint Mary’s of the Sea,” reflecting the deep spiritual and historical significance of these waters and this land.

I conceived both a child and a business simultaneously, growing Brand Aura Studio to multiple six figures all while being present with my daughter, playing with her in the orchard outside as she eats fruit from the trees and runs barefoot. It's my dream, and I am full of gratitude to see it come true. To get here I have shattered through glass ceilings of perceived limitations and self worth — and I'm here to help other women do the same.
This journey to France has been years in the making. Provence isn’t just a place on a map—it’s a part of me. I first fell under its spell at age 12, fully activated by the sounds, smells, color and beauty of the marketplace, country side and food. Thanks to my mother's passion for the area, I spent over 20 summers in Provence, participating in her artistic summer programs and eventually helping direct them. After a year of university in France and becoming fluent in its language, I built roots and deep friendships in this magical land.
The area of the Gypsy Pilgrimage, the Camargue, is especially dear to me. Wild white horses, pink flamingos, cowboys and ancient feminine mysticism all enraptured into a lore that is undeniable. I simply cannot wait to show you this incredible place on our planet and immerse in the music and celebration of the Gypsy people.
